Strengthen The Family Group Conference
The Family Group Conference was one of the most important innovations of the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 — putting tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and family at the centre of decisions that affect their lives.
The FGC model was internationally recognised because it shifted decision-making away from professionals alone and gave families and whānau the opportunity to develop their own solutions, restore mana and take responsibility for the wellbeing of their children.
But the strength of the FGC depends on the system around it.
Our Strengthen the Family Group Conference campaign calls for renewed investment, national consistency and a return to the original intent of the FGC process.
SAFE WORK : FAIR PAY: STRONGER COMMUNITIES
Workers in community services, NGOs and supported housing work every day with some of the most vulnerable and at-risk people in our communities — often while being among the lowest-paid workers themselves.
Our campaign is about making sure these workers are valued, supported and, importantly, SAFE.
We advocate for:

The resources workers need to do their jobs safely
